Java recently added Pattern-Matching to the language (in-progress, not fully completed). The addition has been a pretty big success, but I wanted to start a discussion about some of the downsides. Not to bring down the hype, but because knowing the downsides/weakenesses enables developers to make more informed decisions. That helps everyone in the long run.
