Just got a thinkcentre m710q with an i5 (4 cores and threads) and I want to turn it into a home lab server I can run stuff like plex, Minecraft server, and experiment to learn how servers and networks work. For now I just want to get it set up and configured and have seen a few different videos some insalling Ubuntu servers and others proxmox. I was just wondering what the best way to go about it is? I’m not sure if I need to install Ubuntu then proxmox or skip Ubuntu servers all together. As of right now my main focus is to get a Minecraft server up and running that my friends and family can access. I’ve read it’s best to run it in a container within a vm? Just wondering if you guys had any tips on the best ways to go from here
